PHP's commitment to Indigenous physicians
The PHP is grateful to the Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada for its generosity in providing guidance and support in the creation of this video, which highlights how the PHP aims to support Indigenous physicians, medical students and residents.
The PHP expresses our gratitude to support physician health on these lands and is committed to making our services more culturally safe for Indigenous physicians to access support.
IPAC supports Indigenous physicians, medical students and residents in many ways. For example, IPAC’s Mentorship Circle is an online platform where they can connect with each other as mentees or mentors and share in the spirit of medical education.
We invite you to explore other resources offered by the Canadian Medical Association available in its Wellness and Healing Space.
The OMA's land acknowledgment
The Ontario Medical Association is on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. It is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
This area is in the “Dish with One Spoon” territory. The Dish with One Spoon is a treaty between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee.
This territory is also covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
