Insight Meditation Center (IMC) Is holding the following workshop in 2015: INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS MEDITATION Course description: This course is based on Gil Fronsdal’s a highly respected mindfulness teacher six-week Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation class. It’s supplemented with written material, exercises and reflections for bringing the practice into daily life. Gil Fronsdal is a highly respected mindfulness teacher.
- Additional weekly personal support is offered by various teachers either by email, or at pre-arranged times, using Phone, Skype or Google Talk. (Gil does not offer any personal support.)
- The course material is not live, so it can be done at any time during the day.
- The course may also be Audited without personal teacher support.
- If you choose to register for teacher support, please take this commitment seriously: a volunteer experienced meditator will be reserving weekly time for you

MINDFULNESS FOR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS: STRESS, RESILIENCY AND BURNOUT PREVENTION
Physicians report high levels of stress that have been linked to burnout. This two-day course combines Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (Segal, Z. et al.), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT) techniques to help physicians manage the daily stressful events that arise in both their professional and personal lives. Participants will learn practical stress management skills and be introduced to the clinical applications of mindfulness.
It has been also been accredited by the Ontario College of Family Physicians for 13 Mainpro-C credits. Centre for Addiction and Mental Health 1001 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M6J 1H4 www.camh.ca Continuing Medical Education (CME) events are designed for a variety of health professionals including family physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists and other health care providers. These award-winning events provide addiction and mental health education through interactive lectures, small group discussions and case reviews and conferences. CME events are accredited for family physicians and psychiatrists. These events are usually held at one of the sites of CAMH.
